Beau Dick Memorial Award for Indigenous Students

We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Beau Dick Memorial Award for Indigenous Students at the University of British Columbia. Made available annually through a gift from Donald Ellis, in memory of artist, activist and hereditary Chief Beau Dick (Walas Gwa’yam, 1955-2017), the $20,000 award is designated for a female student from the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation in any undergraduate, post-baccalaureate or graduate program who has achieved good academic standing and demonstrated leadership and community.
