Acquisitions & Appraisals

Donald Ellis Gallery works closely with private clients and institutions to assist with their collecting needs, whether buying, selling or providing advice on collections.
The gallery currently holds most records in both the purchase and sale of major works of antique Native American Art, including important Dundas Collection at auction for $6.1 million dollars.  That purchase included a Northwest Coast mask that realized  $1.8 million, a record at auction for a Native American work of art. The gallery more recently acquired a highly important Navajo Chief's blanket for $1.8 million dollars.  Should you be interested in selling, we invite you to contact the gallery. We deal with the utmost discretion to protect our customers’ privacy.

Donald Ellis Gallery provides fair market value appraisals to numerous private clients for insurance and other purposes, including appraisals required by the Internal Revenue Service in the United States and the Income Tax Act in Canada for donation purposes.
