PROVENANCE

Madeline Langworthy, Berkeley, California, collected in Alaska in the 1930s
The collection notes indicate that this mask is one of five masks offered to Mrs. Langworthy by Pruell's Gift Shop in Ketchikan, Alaska, as indicated in a letter dated. November 18th, 1932. The collectors notes read "Sent 4 old +1 new/only two of them good / one Jap (sic) face with teeth / One old flat small mask - heart shape, no nose."Bonham’s and Butterfield, San Francisco, December 5, lot 167
