Enrico Donati: Prima Materia

Donald Ellis Gallery will be collaborating with Weinstein Gallery in San Francisco with the exhibition: Enrico Donati: Prima Materia opening February 20th and running until April 9th. We will be exhibiting Yup’ik masks, kachina dolls and other works of Native American art that both fascinated and influenced Donati. Several of the works presented were formerly owned by the artist.

Seattle Art Fair 2015

Donald Ellis Gallery will be exhibiting in the inaugural Seattle Art Fair July 30th through August 2nd. We will be exhibiting an important group of works of art from the Pacific Northwest along with a collection of extraordinary Plains Indian Ledger Drawings.

Parcours des Mondes 2015

For the third year Donald Ellis Gallery will be exhibiting in Paris in September at the Parcours des Mondes September 8 through the 15th. The Parcours is the leading tribal art fair in the world. We will be exhibiting an important group of Plains Indian ledger drawing, an exceptionally important group of Yup’ik masks and will unveil the Wolf Collection of prehistoric ivories from the Bering Sea. A lavishly illustrated 256 page catalogue will be produced in conjunction with the exhibition.

Diker Collection

The renowned Diker Collection of American Indian art which was largely formed by the Donald Ellis Gallery is currently on a four city exhibition tour.  The opening at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas earlier this week received a stellar review.  See: http://share.d-news.co/eTyocPg. The Plains Indians, Artists of Earth and Sky Opens at the MET

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York recently opened The Plains Indians, Artists of Earth and Sky.  It is the first major exhibition for the MET in this field and it is a landmark moment for Native American Art.   The exhibition has received extraordinary public response and reviews in the press and it continues until May 10th.
